A day at leisure in Christchurch. Stroll through the Botanical Gardens, visit the museum or enjoy one of our suggested tours shown on page 58.

Day 3 TranzAlpine Train to Greymouth – Fox Glacier (Train 41⁄2 hours & Greymouth to Fox Glacier 201 kms/31⁄2 hours) NM

Collect your rental car from the Budget Office located at the Railway Station. Continue south following the spectacular coastline of the West Coast. Travel through Hokitika and Franz Josef Glacier before reaching Fox Glacier. If time permits, join a guided glacier walk or take a scenic flight over this spectacular alpine region.

Day 4 Fox Glacier – Queenstown

Continue on this spectacular journey through the Haast Pass, travel along the shores of Lakes Wanaka and Hawea and cross the Crown Range before arriving in Queenstown, New Zealand’s premier holiday destination.

Day 7 Queenstown – Rotorua

Return your car to the Budget office located at the airport and fly to Rotorua in the North Island. On arrival in Rotorua, pick up your rental car from the Budget office located at the airport. Drive to your accommodation situated on the shores of Lake Rotorua.

A free day to explore Rotorua. Visit Te Puia and the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve, the Agrodome or enjoy a scenic flight as suggested on page 34. Tonight you might like to visit the Tamaki Village and enjoy the cultural show and hangi feast.

Day 9 Rotorua – Auckland (241 kms/31⁄2 hrs) B

Leave Rotorua and drive through Cambridge and Hamilton to reach Auckland, the City of Sails.

A free day to enjoy Auckland and perhaps enjoy a sail or cruise on the harbour. Some suggestions are shown on page 28.

Day 11 Depart Auckland NM

Return your rental car to the depot at Auckland Airport and depart on your onward flight.
